USA BlueBook Joins
International Rural Water in Guatemala

February 13, 2009:  IRWA is proud to announce USA BlueBook’s continued commitment to helping rural communities in Guatemala with a $9,000 donation to fund a circuit rider in Guatemala.   USA BlueBook president John Berry said they are very excited about partnering with IRWA.  Mr. Berry stated, “We are excited to support your efforts and will do what we can to continue to grow this relationship and help you achieve your goals.  This is an important and worthy initiative. . . I look forward to growing this relationship and want you to know we are sincerely interested in helping you achieve the objectives in front of you and are proud to be helping with something so important.”

Bill Kramer, IRWA Program Manager, said USA BlueBook has been a long time partner of IRWA, “BlueBook has partnered with us to promote the Circuit Rider concept in Guatemala and has shown its continued commitment through an additional grant to maintain our presence in Guatemala.”

BlueBook has also been assisting IRWA through a collaborative effort to design and produce training materials for use in Central America.  The first of the training programs will be a self study course on hydraulics and the water cycle designed for use by Circuit Riders, community water boards/utility staff and others working on water projects.  The training program will provide much needed information regarding the natural water cycle, principles of pressure in piped distribution systems and how to move water via a piped distribution system over uneven terrain.  BlueBook’s demonstrated ability in developing learning management tools and its ability to incorporate animation, will be invaluable in demonstrating the concepts of the training program.
