Circuit Riders Program
A report was presented to the Municipality of Cabañas, on the current situation of the municipality’s water system.  The ADEC circuit riders are currently providing technical attendance to 15 systems.  

An early draft of a work agreement with the Municipality of Cabañas has been developed.  The main objective is to establish work strategies and cooperation between ADEC and the Municipality. 

In this month of July, circuit rider Oneida provided training in chlorination, maintenance, administration, rates, and hypocloradores reactivation.  It is important to note that none of the community water systems were being chlorinated but now all are being attended by ADEC with very good results.   Two chlorinators have been installed, one in the low part of the municipality and another in the high part. The following ones are the communities of the municipality of Cabañas that the circuit riders worked in during July :

This month it was also possible to work with the municipality of San José, La Paz, at the moment the Circuit Riders are attending to 6 of the municipality’s 12 water systems.  A work agreement will be signed with San José's Municipality to define work strategies to motivate the remaining communities to enter into the program of attendance and training hosted by ADEC.

Depurador Study

A Depurador system was installed in the colony Osorio Contreras as part of a study that will monitor the conditions of health, incidence of waterborne diseases within this colony that does not have a safe water system.  The study will determine the degree to which the quality of life improves after installation of the new water system.

The system in the community of La Estanzuela was previously improved by the installation of  a chlorinator, but due to the turbidity of the water it was decided to implement a Depurador system in addition to chlorine.

Chlorinator Program
As part of the agreement of work between ADEC and ACRA which has similar goals, chlorinators were installed in several communities.  Work has begun on the installation of a chlorinator in the community of La Vegas, Marcala.  Also the diagnosis for the installation has been made of another chlorinator by ADEC in the communities of Mogola, and Tierra Colorada.

Rotary Projects
As part of the cooperation that ADEC is offering to the Rotary Club of Marcala in its project MG # 62546, ADEC circuit riders worked on the study of the water systems of the communities of La Laguna and San Juan, Guajiquiro in conjunction with the local Peace Corps volunteer.

In addition the circuit riders worked with the communities of El Mezcalito and El Llanón on the installation and training in the proper operation of the Norweco Chlorinator installed in those communities.

Ceramic Filters Program                                                          
In the district of Hidden Water of Marcala, 41 ceramic filters have been installed to determine if they can reduce the incidence of waterborne diseases and to determine the acceptance of the filters by the residents.   Circuit rider Silvia lead the training program on the proper use and will provide follow up support.
