Governance

IRWA is governed by a 10 member board of directors. Each member serves a three year term. The current board is made up of five NRWA national board members and five non-NRWA members. Operations and management of IRWA is accomplished by three staff members in the U.S.

Financial support for IRWA comes from a variety of sources including private donors, foundations, and corporations. Eighty-five percent of all donations goes directly to in-country operations. Only fifteen percent of all donations is used to cover administrative costs and a reserve fund.

You may ask yourself how we are able to do so much work with such a lean staff. One reason is because of our incredible volunteers. We believe in keeping our administrative costs as low as possible to send as many resources to our Field Programs as possible. We provide good living wages and benefits to IRWA Circuit Riders consistent with country conditions. Finally, we believe in being good stewards of your donations.
